Weather was so vile here last night I think all the fireworks and bonfires were drowned out Heard a few go off as I arrived at the station, then the rain started in earnest and phutted out everything. Heard and saw nothing until a few half hearted rockets just before 11pm.
We've hired a van for the weekend again. Was supposed to be a small one, but they were all out, so we have a huge VW (Transit) sized for the same price. Need to get more food for the hens, but may take advantage of the extra space to get some timber to make the new compost area, plus we can fetch bulky stuff from skips. The builders bag of leaves I had my eye on is rain sodden and too heavy to shift, so will have to wait for it to arrive at the allotment as council compost. Still, we should be able to gather plenty of our own over the next few weeks. _________________ There's a little blue shed at the edge of the woods....

hi all. I have a grumpy Bam sat on my knee. when asked if he wanted to get dressed (yes, still in his PJ's ) and walk the dogs he said no. Now he's realised Oz and the dogs have gone without him we've had tears and a tantrum. It's not like this hasn't happened before......
We've cleared loads of space in the garden and hoping to get at least one raised bed built today. I cleared the greenhouse yesterday (much cursing of the grape vine which is now grown very low and i kept hitting my head on it)........
Bedroom nearly ready to move in........everything is at that 'almost' stage....
At least we have glorious sunshine....perfect for being in the garden. _________________ Take acre.........it's like take care, but covers more ground.

Hello peoples!
We've got glorious sunshine here today despite the weather forecast being the opposite. Went to Tesco for the first time in months to do the weekly shop [I've transferred over to Sainsburys] and remembered why I stopped going there. Did however, come back with 6 wine boxes as they had put loads out- all our empty wine bottles are now neatly stored in the garage in them. Is there a rule I don't know about ie the minute I decide to declutter I up the amount of stuff that I bring into the house Have though also freecycled a suitcase so cleared a space elsewhere.
Have been into the town aswell today and done some more Chrimble present shopping - am almost there. I try to get it done early as I don't seem to have much spare time these days working full time.
Got a friend coming over for lunch and then am planning an afternoon of r&R perhaps with a little cross stitch and inevitably gallons of tea!!
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Well my kitchen is shining like a new penny, Its enabled me to clean and keep on eye on poor tilly hen staggering about the garden out the window. Time for some lunch now then I need to treat the silkies scaly legs and re-dust the garden girls for any lice eggs which might have hatched. Then walk the dog and take some greens to the field.
Thew, I said to my husband the other day "do you know what I need, a wife, a farmers wife" he just laughed and said yes dear
(((nita+paul))) Hope Pauls enjoying the sunshine and makes him feel a little better. _________________ Its good for you, It's character building.

I could do with a hot bath- it is cold outside and I have been out clearing a flower bed. Our council no longer maintains flowerbeds on the pavement in side roads so it is up to us to do it. We are removing the old bushes which got way out of hand and then planting roses, lavender and bulbs. One of my neighbours is going to help but is half way through decorating his large living/dining room at the moment so it will be me, helped by DH a bit, doing it this weekend and next week. I want to get it done now so that the roses have time to settle in properly and hopefully flower in the summer. Once the roses are in my other neighbour with two young girls will probably get roped in to plant bulbs. We will encourage any of their friends who live in the road to bring along some bulbs to plant too as they all walk past it on the way to school. Fingers crossed for some more dry days to at least get the roses and lavender in, we can always add bulbs next year.
I should not be doing this at all as I have so many jobs to do inside but the horrible overgrown bushes were annoying me. One flowerbed is outside the other half of our pair of semi-detached though. It has a very neglected rubbish strewn garden as no one lives there at the moment, which will rather spoil the effect.
Off to copy some exam papers for DH while he is at the allotment and then make two sorts pf chutney and paint a skirting board and a window sill. I am hoping that all this activity will help me lose weight in conjunction with the healthy eating I am also trying to stick too. This won't stop me having a few glasses of wine this evening though. I think I have earned them |

today has been a day of true 'i wonder what....' silliness.
like 'i wonder what will happen if i lay the rake down and jump on it?' (i intercepted that one before it was carried out) and 'i wonder what will happen if i stick my foot under the outdoor tap and turn it on?' this experiment was enhanced by wearing Oz's boots......clearly not stupid enough to wear his own footwear for that one
still....one raised bed built and lots done in the garden....... _________________ Take acre.........it's like take care, but covers more ground.

Actually, I think you are being entirely practical. You are doing a task you find onerous along with one you find pleasurable. When you associate a good thing with a bad thing it makes the bad thing part of it. The only problem is that you might get the two totally intertwinned so that in future years the only way you can drink a glass of plonk is with a heap of paperwork in front of you. Could be tricky _________________ Alice
